RON'S GUIDE SERVICE is located in the small country town of Lakeport. This remote fishing and hunting village is located on the southwest side of Lake Okeechobee. Our fishing and hunting guide service operates out of "Beck's Food, Tackle & Marathon Gas Station Store". Beck's as it is known locally is located on the south side of highway 78 in the town of Lakeport. The Seminole Brighton Indian Reservation highway junction (721) that ends on highway 78 and which is directly across from Beck's is a landmark that is very easy to locate. The below picture which shows the locality and what Beck's store looks like will make finding (our meeting place) at Beck's very easy.
Please note there is no business sign on the store that says Beck's Food & Tackle. Look for the Marathon Gas Station sign.

Beck's store and Marathon gas station is the building with the blue roof in the foreground. The Harney Pond canal on the right side of the photo is where we ramp in to gain access to the Lake Okeechobee which can be seen in the background of the photo. The road in the photo that go's from the left side to the right side is highway 78. You would be traveling from Moore Haven coming from the right side of the photo to Beck's store. If you were coming from the left side of the photo to Beck's store you would be traveling from the city of Okeechobee. The road on the bottom right side of the photo that ends on highway 78 is 721. This road runs from highway 78 north 18 miles to route 70 where it ends.

Motel Lodging

Ron's Guide Service clients who are fishing or duck hunting under our 2 half 1 night fishing and/or duck hunting package deals were provided with their lodging at the
Glades Inn.

Please note the Glades Inn is currently closed due to renovations.
When they will re-open is not known.

We now allow the client to choose where they want to stay rather then where we made arrangements for them to stay at. As noted below the lodging refund of $40.00 can be applied to the cost of a clients lodging at the motel of his choosing.

The Rice Motel (863-946-0424) in the town of Moore Haven offers lodging through Ron's Guide Service for $40.00 per night.

Lodging Refunds

We offer a courtesy lodging refund in the amount of $40.00 for the 1 night of lodging that is included with the 2 half day 1 night fishing and duck hunting rate. This credit will be subtracted from a party's 2 half days 1 night package rate total cost.

Example: a party who booked the 2 half day 1 night package would get a $40.00 lodging credit that they can use to pay for their own lodging with!

The $40.00 lodging credit is also applicable if a party has other lodging options available such as a RV camper, trailer home, camping out, staying with friends, etc.

FROM FT. MYERS AIRPORT: (approx. 85 miles), take 75 north to exit 141 east to La Belle, which becomes 80, take 80 to 27, turn left onto 27 heading towards the town of Moore Haven, go through the town of Moore Haven to 78, make a right on 78 and go past the Police Department and State Prison and go approx. 13 miles to the sign that says welcome to the town of Lakeport. Stay on 78 and go past the Circle K Store on your right and go over the Harney Pond Canal bridge which is about a block from the Circkle K. Store. Just on the other side of the bridge maybe 200 feet you will see the Indian Reservation junction sign 721 and the Marathon Gas Station on your right side where we meet.

FROM WEST PALM BEACH AIRPORT: (approx. 90 miles), take 98 and 441 west to town of Belle Glade, take 80 to 27 going through the towns of South Bay and Clewiston, stay on 27 north and go though the town of Moore Haven to 78, make a right on 78 and go past the Police Department and State Prison and go approx. 13 miles to the sign that says welcome to the town of Lakeport. Stay on 78 and go past the Circle K Store on your right and go over the Harney Pond Canal bridge which is about a block from the Circkle K. Store. LAUDERDALE AIRPORT: (approx. 100 miles), take 595 and 84 west to 27 north to the town of South Bay, stay on 80 and 27 heading for the towns of Clewiston and Moore Haven, go through the town of Moore Haven to 78, make a right on 78 and go past the Police Department and State Prison and go approx. 13 miles to the sign that says welcome to the town of Lakeport. Stay on 78 and go past the Circle K Store on your right and go over the Harney Pond Canal bridge which is about a block from the Circkle K. Store. FROM MIAMI AIRPORT: (approx. 135 miles) take 27 north to town of South Bay, take 80 and 27 through the towns of Clewiston and Moore haven, go through the town of Moore haven to 78, make a right on 78 and go past the Police Department and State Prison and go approx. 13 miles to the sign that says welcome to the town of Lakeport. Stay on 78 and go past the Circle K Store on your right and go over the Harney Pond Canal bridge which is about a block from the Circkle K. Store. Just on the other side of the bridge maybe 200 feet you will see the Indian Reservation junction sign 721 and the Marathon Gas Station on your right side where we meet.

FROM ORLANDO AIRPORT: (Disney World approx. 120 miles) take Florida Turnpike to Yeehaw Junction , get off and take 441 south to town of Okeechobee, go through town and turn right onto 78, go appox. 23 miles to the town of Lakeport. You will see the Indian Reservation junction sign 721 and the Marathon Gas Station on your left side where we meet.
